Drugs to Tackle Premature Ejaculation – Does It Effective?

Although the problem of premature ejaculation is not as severe ED, but it still gives a negative impact on the couple husband and wife, especially her husband. Because of that, many experts in the field of sexual medicine have been trying to find a solution through a medical.

According to the researchers report, the drug designed to treat premature ejaculation has been reported to have a positive impact on the trial.

Jon Pryor, of the University of Minnesota, United States along with his partner has been doing experiments on 2000 men who suffer from premature ejaculation. They have been carrying out experiments on the effectiveness of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) called Dapoxetine around early year 2000. All men are made of experiments reported not only to survive until the first minute when having sex with their spouse before ejaculation, on average.

These men were divided randomly into three groups, namely placebo, treatment with 30mg or 60mg of dapoxetine. This drug was given within one to three hours before they have sex with their wives.

After 12 weeks, the experimental results were recorded as follows:

Placebo: lasted until 1.8 minutes before ejaculation

30mg dapoxetine: lasted until 2.8 minutes before ejaculation

60mg of dapoxetine: lasted until 3.3 minutes before ejaculation

Through this experiment, Jon Pryor concluded "Dapoxetine has increased the level of perception on how to control premature ejaculation, sexual satisfaction and change the situation better."

The drugs have been proven effective and safe, according to the researchers. However, there are also other effects suffered by a man who became the experimental material such as nausea, diarrhoea, headaches and dizziness. Last year, the Administrator of the United States Food and Drugs has decided to decline the license of Dapoxetine, medication to treat premature ejaculation.

Marcel Waldinger, a hospital neuropsychiatiarist from The Hague, Netherlands has committed experiments on the ejaculation of random people in five countries, namely the Netherlands, UK, Spain, Turkey and the United States. As a result, he found that the average man can hold up to 5.4 minutes while Turkey had the lowest average of 3.7 minutes.

"The clinic or other medical professionals should be careful with the production of drugs to treat patients with premature ejaculation, since many of them are belong to normal sexual performance.”, said Waldinger.
